The Smaller Details Of The Wedding

One thing I need to work on more when I shoot a wedding is the smaller details that sometimes escapes the eye because of the bigger picture of whats going on. The close shots of wedding flowers, wedding dress, rings, dinner setup, cake and things like that. Most of these shots are taken with a shallow DOF (Distance Of Focus) leaving a very small area that is sharp and spreads out to a unfocused style which keeps the eye on one certain area of the photo and that would be the detail the photographer want to elaborate on. There is some neat stuff that can be done doing this sort of photography with  weddings and I will work more on this stuff on the next upcoming events I do. I have listed a photo below of what I think could be a Tiger Lilly (I could be wrong) which shows the detail on the Stamen, Anther and Filaments in focus and focus fades out on the Petals and Sepal which blends into the background. I also will be present this weekend in Lynchburg, Virginia for Nina and Charlie’s wedding and look forward to sharing the big day with both of them as they are a very fun couple to hang out with and this weekend will be no exception.
