Facebook And Your Photography

For all wedding photographers/photographers far and near, Facebook has become a nice little tool to get your business name out a little further into the world. I have never had problems with letting my clients use photos I post on the blog and put them up on Facebook but now I might have a change of heart after reading on Foxnews about a change by Facebook with there TOS. To put it bluntly if your photos are on Facebook they can use them and even from what I read use them in third party situations. Basically they own what you put up and even if you delete your content they hold them in an archive to be used whenever they want. I think I need to rethink what I do with the photos I put up on Facebook as well as my clients. You can read the info from Foxnews here.

I think you will find that Facebook has reverted to an earlier TOS, and reverted rights of ownership back to the user. I expect you will want to check this for yourself, then perhaps remove these comments of yours?

Thanks Brett. I did not get a chance to post that they had done this but it was kind of dicey for a little bit with them wanting to do this..Thanks for stopping by.
