First off I knew Caitlyn and Hunter would be so much fun to work with just by the conversations we have had on the phone about the session and I was right. And we had such an amazing time with them even though the water proved to be quite an adventure that day (very cold). Thanks guys ( and dogs Brady & Duncan ) for making it so easy for us and braving that cold Chesapeake Bay water in October. Hurricane Irene Virginia Beach, Virginia

We were lucky in the Hampton Roads area, hurricane Irene could have been far worse then it was. After my chase with the storm hurricane Isabel was much more destructive to our area and a large swath of the East Coast. Most of the time I like to be at land fall during a hurricane but since the eyewalls path was ploted over the area I live in, I made the choice to stay local and look over my family and property. I have posted a video that shows what I saw in my travels in Virginia Beach and Sandbridge area that took a big hit from a waterspout that came ashore and damged about five to six houses which is shown at the end of the video. It also has an interview with the man that lost his house from the damaging tornado/waterspout. I can tell you I will be cleaning sand out of my ears for a week or longer and if you stayed inside,, here is some footage of what you missed.

Just a short post with some fun photos from the 2011 DockDog contest. This weekend is one of my last free weekends for a long time with this years wedding business in full swing, next weekend till the end of November. I will be very busy with my best year so far since I started the business and I have some amazing brides and grooms to show off and cant wait.. I took Madison out for some fun with some high and long jumping dogs (22 feet across the pool). Radio Poppers And Bella

Today I received my new Radio Poppers via the UPS man. I have been waiting and studying to make sure I ordered the right system and the Radio Poppers won out hands down over the Pocket Wizards. Flash photography has been somewhat limited by the use of lower aperture and fast shutter speed until recently where improvements have been made and the ability of high speed sync has come into play. This was enough for me to make the move towards this type of system and from what I have read and what I have seen I am going to have a lot of fun. The Nikon CLS system has its limitation and line of sight is one big one. Tonight I was messing around with the Nikon SB900 and the Nikon D300 and some off camera photography. I took this photo of our new kitten Bella on the chair. I hope to infuse this type of photography into my daily routine and come up with some new refreshing photos.
