First off I knew Caitlyn and Hunter would be so much fun to work with just by the conversations we have had on the phone about the session and I was right. And we had such an amazing time with them even though the water proved to be quite an adventure that day (very cold). Thanks guys ( and dogs Brady & Duncan ) for making it so easy for us and braving that cold Chesapeake Bay water in October. Christine + Michael: Married! | The Signature at West Neck

When we first met Christine and Michael earlier this year, we liked them instantly. Warm and genuine, interesting and down-to-earth and funny!! So we looked forward to their wedding day at The Signature at West Neck even know the rain was upon us and had been for the last four days before the wedding. Christine and Michael chose to be intimately surrounded by those that mean most to them, which made for an incredibly heartfelt day.. Here are a few photos I liked from their wedding day….

Hurricane Irene Virginia Beach, Virginia

We were lucky in the Hampton Roads area, hurricane Irene could have been far worse then it was. After my chase with the storm hurricane Isabel was much more destructive to our area and a large swath of the East Coast. Most of the time I like to be at land fall during a hurricane but since the eyewalls path was ploted over the area I live in, I made the choice to stay local and look over my family and property. I have posted a video that shows what I saw in my travels in Virginia Beach and Sandbridge area that took a big hit from a waterspout that came ashore and damged about five to six houses which is shown at the end of the video. It also has an interview with the man that lost his house from the damaging tornado/waterspout. I can tell you I will be cleaning sand out of my ears for a week or longer and if you stayed inside,, here is some footage of what you missed.

I love a good storm, my love for photography started out with shooting photos of lightning. Last year and for the most part of this year have not yielded any good weather photos. I was very happy to walk away with some keepers last night and a photo which shows two step leaders coming off the top of The Westin which appears to be at least 100 feet high and a smaller one coming off the second largest building which is smaller but still visible. Jiselle And Nick’s Wedding Day Yorktown Virginia

I enjoyed being around Jiselle and Nick during their engagements and the wedding was no different, what a fun and loving couple and it’s obvious how much they care for each other just by watching their stolen glances, quick kisses, and private conversations. The wedding took off without delay on the beach in Yorktown, Virginia early Saturday morning. The reception took place at the Historic Powhatan Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. I am still moved by Nick’s brothers speech as I am sure the whole room was, very heartfelt and sincere. Here are a few photos I liked from the day..

Just a short post with some fun photos from the 2011 DockDog contest. This weekend is one of my last free weekends for a long time with this years wedding business in full swing, next weekend till the end of November. I will be very busy with my best year so far since I started the business and I have some amazing brides and grooms to show off and cant wait.. I took Madison out for some fun with some high and long jumping dogs (22 feet across the pool). I have posted a few photos from todays enjoyment and with one soaked little girl and some record setting dogs from the DockDog contest I had a ton of fun..

Mom’s and Dad’s…. Wow it seem like yesterday you guys ( Kelly and Andy ) were just getting married and now have a little boy. Both of you are going to be amazing parents and I am taking bets on how long it takes Andy to get him on a bike. Here are a couple of shots from the shoot. Nothing fancy here just basic window light without flash, white blanket and a reflector. The Tran Family

I was a little late on the posting of this session but one that I am very happy to show and share at the end of 2010 with the Tran family and friends. One of my first weddings, first maternity sessions and birthing sessions, I have been blest and granted with the special privilege of documenting some of the amazing highlights of the Tran’s family life. My wife and I have become very good friends with Linda, Thao and their beautiful daughter Taylor. We took the time and found a couple of spots around the Virginia Beach courthouse during one of the last warm days before the cold really set in. It took some time before Taylor got around to being herself but when she did I caught some of her funny faces that she likes to make. Here are a few of my favorites from the session..

Laura Trash The Dress Virginia, Beach TTD

This was my first “trash the dress session” and I had a lot of fun being behind the camera for this shoot. I shot Laura’s wedding a couple of years ago and she has joined me for other shoots so she knew what I was looking for, which made it all that more fun. We took the tour of Granby Street in Norfolk, Virginia and then moved to the beach after that. I would like to thanks once more Lauren Gerald for makeup and Kelly Ashton for hair. They both did a wonderful job and I recommend them highly. Thanks Laura for hanging in there with that 80 pounds of water soaked in that wedding dress. Here are a couple of shots from the day..
