We were lucky in the Hampton Roads area, hurricane Irene could have been far worse then it was. After my chase with the storm hurricane Isabel was much more destructive to our area and a large swath of the East Coast. Most of the time I like to be at land fall during a hurricane but since the eyewalls path was ploted over the area I live in, I made the choice to stay local and look over my family and property. I have posted a video that shows what I saw in my travels in Virginia Beach and Sandbridge area that took a big hit from a waterspout that came ashore and damged about five to six houses which is shown at the end of the video. It also has an interview with the man that lost his house from the damaging tornado/waterspout. I can tell you I will be cleaning sand out of my ears for a week or longer and if you stayed inside,, here is some footage of what you missed.

With the sun out for the first time in many days I had the opportunity to test the new filter with the harsh sun light that was available today. I could not find a wedding bride in a white dress so I had to settle for a White Egret which is pretty close to the color and contrast I would have with a Bride in a white wedding dress. I shot a few without the filter and then shot with the filter and I saw a big difference in the sky (which I knew) and the color was not dulled due to the over powering sun. I even adjusting for the 1/3 stop that is lost from the filter and I still saw a difference in the detail of the feathers from the bird. So now you may ask yourself why is this so important,,,There is nothing worse then a beautiful Bride in her wedding dress and the white wedding dress is blown out with no detail..Happy New Years everyone
