Marsha & Tony’s Wedding

Marsha and Tony one of the first things I walked away with after being with you on your special day was how loved you both are by your family and friends. I really enjoyed the stories told by both fathers and both of your close friends who made a humorous and yet very heart felt speech. I wish you both many happy years together and here are a couple shots that I liked.

Fast Dogs,Fine Wine,Teacher & Future Doctor.

Wow, that was a mouth full but it all falls into place for an engagement session that took place this weekend at First Landing State Park. I had a great time with Marsha and Tony and I have to say I also took much enjoyment in watching Nani and Nalu (Miniature Greyhound) tear up the beach at 100 mph. Hawaiian name for Nani is “beautiful” and Nalu means “wave” which is where Marsha and Tony spent sometime before moving here to the East coast. Marsha met Tony in San Diego at a bar in P.F. Changs on her Spring Break and took a chance of leaving the bar with him to go to a barbeque he was hosting at his house, well, you can see that was a worth while chance. Marsha is a high school teacher and Tony is a resident doctor and both have a love for wine. A favorite might be a big and bold cabernet or a special one they are saving for the honeymoon called Beringer Reserve. Marsha and Tony you’ll have to let me know how that one taste. See you guys in October for the wedding, I can’t wait..

A Long Awaited Engagement Session

Wow, it sure does not seem like it has been over six months since I first got together to meet Melissa and her children. The whole time Melissa was under the impression that Marvin (her soon to be husband) would not be back till sometime before the wedding in December. During our last shoot with her and her beautiful children at the beach she told me that he might make it home for a short stay in August. With a much anticipated wait and a very excited e-mail from Melissa the news was out and he was on his way home so an engagement session was surly in order. I had heard so much about Marvin and I was very interested to meet him. Melissa wanted to shoot at Norfolk Botanical Garden and this was fine with me as I do like to shoot at this beautiful place. Melissa, in the short time I got to spend with Marvin I understand now why both of you blend so well together as a couple and my impression of Marvin is, humble, genuine, and very giving. Marvin it was a pleasure to meet you and I will see you very soon, take care.

Portraits Of Melissa,Maya & Trey

There is nothing better then putting the camera in front of a beautiful and fun spirited family and I experienced this during the weekend. I meant Melissa and her two children Maya and Trey in Dec of 2007 to talk about her upcoming wedding in Dec of 2008 and right off the bat I knew how much fun it was going to be taking photos of her wedding as well as the family portraits we took this weekend. Melissa’s fiancee Marvin is serving in the armed forces and has been gone for sometime. When we meant Melissa told me that he would not be back until just before the wedding and we would not be able to take advantage of an engagement session which I myself personally enjoy doing. But Melissa told me that he might make a surprise entrance in August sometime and I would get to meet him as well as get an engagement session in before his return. It was funny every time Marvin’s name came up or the possibility of him coming home for a short visit it was like someone turning the switch on in a big power plant as she would get very excited and glow with happiness. My figures are crossed for you Melissa and I am sure we will be talking about where to shoot your engagement session very soon. Here are a couple of photos from this weekend. This was the first time I have shot at Seashore State Park. Thanks guys for being so much fun to work with and cant wait to enjoy your company if front of the camera again.

Laura and Daniel’s Wedding Day

Laura and Daniel I had a great time and it was a privilege to be a part of your special day. I made it to Laura’s house to partake in the normal mass confusion that a bride encounters hours before her ceremony and I had a fun time taking it all in. Laura your sisters were a trip and very funny and I thank them for taking the time to help when they did. The wedding ceremony took place in Portsmouth City Park at 2:00pm with a small gathering of friends and family. I have to say when you think you have seen it all something taps you on the back and surprises you and cutting the wedding cake with a firemen’s axe was the first for me, Daniel is a firefighter so how else would the cake have been cut. I think with the smoke filled skies which were soon cleared by an upcoming thunderstorm and a seemingly large amount of Canadian Geese things worked out well. I wish both of you as many happy years as Laura’s grandparents have shared and I am sure both of you will. I also would like to thanks Jesse Bass for helping with the wedding photography.
