Heather Jeanette Miley

I had the pleasure of shooting portraits again of Heather Jeanette Miley for her EPK (Electronic Press Kit). Instead of a studio environment we took the tour of Norfolk Botanical Gardens and some sections of Ocean View for the sunset shots. Lauren Brune did a fantastic job on the makeup as usual and Kelly Ashton did a beautiful job on the hair and both I highly recommend for any of these subjects you might need. Thanks Heather for making it so easy with the camera and for my second shooter for putting up with my BS..

Molly And Jesse

Molly and Jesse wanted to take the time to announce to friends and family that they tied the knot and what better way to do this then to take some amazing and fun photos to show the love they have for each other. It was truly fun working with this couple who can pose and are very comfortable around the camera as Molly and Jesse were. Here are a few of my favorite photos from this shoot. Molly I hope the time flies by and you and Jesse will be laughing together in each others arms again.

Brook Senior Portraits Kellam High School

A little cloudy this past Sunday but managed to walk away with some nice senior portraits of Brook with her amazing eyes she has. Thanks for making the photo shoot easy Brook and good luck in your future.

Lightning Across The Lake

These lightning shots would have been up sooner but I took these the night my father passed away on May 15, 2010, at around 4 am around the same time he died. Nevertheless they are special to me because of when they were taken.

Two Lost Heros

Life is so amazing but yet so unfair. Trevor Gwin from DJ’s On The Side informed me very late last night that Donald Lamar (from a wedding in May of last year that we both covered) lost his life in Afghanistan fighting for your freedom and my families as well. Although the time I spent with Stephanie and Donald was limited to time spent with them during the engagement and wedding photography I remember how they both kid and cut up with each other during the engagement shoot while Amy and I found it funny how their daughter had the same first and middle name as our daughter and that strong Brooklyn accent he had. I also remember how much he was loved by family and friends during the wedding. My prayers and thoughts are with you Stephanie, Madison and family. You can read more about Donald here.

Five hours later at 7:00 am I awoke to a phone call from my mother and I knew something was wrong. My mother told me that my dad had passed away last night around 2:00 am about the same time I found out about Donald. He fought a long battle with heart disease and diabetes. My father (my hero) taught me so many important lessons in life and in till today I would always confide in him when I had questions or needed advice and his humors ways that he used to use to lead me down the right path always made me laugh. A guy who use to scare the hell out of me when I rode on his motorcycle with him to a guy who had a passion for photography but was cut short with the loss of his sight. The same guy who knew when I was lying to him when I was younger to get out of trouble and thinking he had to be a psychic to the guy who was such a daredevil and showoff but would never fly on a plane. I am not good with words or how to explain how much he meant to me, but if I could plug my memories into a flat screen tv and let you watch it I could guarantee that he would touch your heart somehow or some way in the first five minutes. Dad I wish I would have made that call I usually make to talk with you last night so I could have talked with you one last time but know this, I love you and will think of you everyday. My Dad
